Suddenly, Adsense video ads everywhere
Posted on January 6th, 2007 in Adsense by Jason Pedersen |
As some of you may have seen a while back, Google’s Adsense added a new way to earn revenue through their contextual advertising, video ads. So apparently these ads have been available to publishers on adsense since May of ‘06. But I cannot say that I have ever seen the ads used on a site.
Suddenly, I have seen the video ads show up on three different blogs in the last fifteen minutes or so. Does anyone know why these are showing up all of a sudden? Could it be that three different bloggers decided to allow video ads on their site within a few hours of each other, after the program has been around for over 6 months? Not likely.
So what’s the deal?

I’ve never seen these ads either, although if one showed up on my site I think I’d be rather annoyed.
Here from DP … thx for the advice.
Your welcome for the advice. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
As for the ads, I would think they would have a very high CTR. So they may not be such a bad thing.
Do you think these video ads pay more?
Well I don’t have an adsense account, so I couldn’t say for sure. I would think they would pay better than a normal text link.
