How does RevenuePilot work?

Posted on February 24th, 2007 in Affiliates, Pay Per Click, RevenuePilot | 2 Comments »

RevenuePilot (aff) is a price per click (PPC) solution for advertisers and publishers. Advertisers bid on keywords that they want their advertisement to show up for. Then a publisher chooses keywords that fit his site and places the ad code on it. When a visitor visits the site, the advertisers ad shows up and, if the visitor clicks it, the publisher is paid 60% of what the advertiser paid for that keyword.

RevenuePilot is similar to Adsense and Yahoo Publisher Network (YPN) in that it is an easy way to monetize your site with advertisements. It does, however, have a few important differences.

The first important difference is that publishers choose which keywords will show up on their site. Adsense and YPN both search your content and then choose which advertisements best fit your content. The nice thing about picking your own keywords is that you do not have to worry about irrelevant ads every coming up.

RevenuePilot also has an affiliate program where you can earn 10% of a referral’s revenue for life. This is a great option for those of you that know how to really drive affiliate programs. You can read more about that here.

Note: While checking out my stats over at 103Bees, I noticed that the top question bringing hits to my site was “how revenuepilot works.” The idea is that this post will give those searchers exactly what they are looking for.

Wordpress Adsense Optimized Themes

Posted on February 24th, 2007 in Adsense, Blogging, Design | No Comments »

There is a nice post over at Dosh Dosh highlighting some of advantages of using an Adsense optimized theme. The post also has a list of 16 of these optimized themes.

I have thought about using one of these themes for RevenueQuest. My only hesitation is that many of these themes are all over the internet now. Using a common theme makes your blog look unoriginal.

If you decide to go with one of these themes, try to edit it a little bit. You may want to change the graphic in the header or changing the color theme.

I have a number one keyword on Google

Posted on February 23rd, 2007 in Blog Updates, Search Engine Optimization | No Comments »

And it is not my site name.

I was going through my Google Analytics reports today, and I noticed I got some organic hits yesterday. I saw that I am getting hits for my Comment Hut post (for searching “comment hut“) and Adbrite Invideo post (for searching my invideo results).

I am the number one search result for “my invideo results.” I do not know how often that phrase will be searched, but hopefully it will continue to send hits my way.

Added Feedburner to RevenueQuest

Posted on February 18th, 2007 in Blog Updates, Blogging, RSS | No Comments »

I just added my RSS feed to Feedburner. You can see the link to my RSS feed to the right and, if you like the blog, please subscribe.

Feedburner is a free on-line service that allows you to publicize your RSS and Atom feeds. One of its nicest features is the stats it gives you about your feed. It tells you what readers are using to read your feed, which search bots are searching your feed, how many readers are currently subscribed, and more. Feedburner also has an Ad Network that allows you to monetize your feed; very handy for those of you worried about losing revenue because readers are only looking at your RSS feed and not visiting your site.
I highly recommend you sign-up for Feedburner and “burn your feed.”
I will let you all know how adding my RSS feed to Feedburner affects my subscriptions.

Earners Blog is Genius

Posted on February 16th, 2007 in Site Reviews | No Comments »

Since I began delving into the whole internet marketing and making money on-line scenes, I have consistently been checking a few different blogs. My favorite to read, and generally the first one I check everyday, is Earners Blog.

What makes Earners Blog so great? His posts are simply genius. After reading most of his posts, I think to myself, “Why didn’t I think of that?” He also has a way of motivating you. This is really nice when your latest, great idea just bombed and you begin thinking that you are no good at this whole making money on-line bit.

The first time I visited Earners Blog (I found his link on Blog Top Sites) I read his post on how he started making $200 a day. It was the first time I was really introduced with how to make money with affiliate programs.

That one post got me hooked and I have been returning ever since.

If you still are not convinced that you should start reading Stuart’s blog, he’s an Aussie! Who doesn’t like an Aussie?

Adbrite InVideo launches

Posted on February 12th, 2007 in Affiliates, Pay Per Click | 1 Comment »

AdBrite (aff) is the latest company to launch a new video platform that allows publishers to earn revenue from their videos. It is called InVideo.
Here are some of its features:

  • It’s free for the publisher
  • They allow you to make a watermark to put on your video
  • Ads are split screen. This means ads will not interrupt the viewing experience.
  • You will earn revenue whether the video is on your web page or someone else’s

This seems like a great system if you are really interested in creating videos and do not mind other people using them on their sites. The great thing is you will still be earning the revenue from the videos.

AdBrite also has an affiliate program that allows you to earn 50% of AdBrite’s profits referred from your site for the first 3 months and 10% for the next 9 months.

I will be giving AdBrite’s InVideo a try on my running videos site.
