New Google Adsense-Maps Advertisement

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

I just found a new type of Google Adsense ad. As you can see in the pictures, these ads integrate Google Adsense ads with Google Maps and its traffic analysis feature. The traffic is brought to you by the advertiser – in this case Nissan Altima.

You can also click on “Coupe nav” and it will let you scroll around the interior of the advertised Nissan Altima Coupe.

Google continues to set trends across all internet platforms. It seemed like they were one of the first to be displaying video ads. It will be interesting to see if any other ad networks try to include interactive advertisements in their arsenal.

A 120 word post increased profits 550%

Over at Daily Blog Tips, Stephen made a case study regarding a post he made back in December and how it raised his Adsense profits 550% in April. The profit spike came from ranking well in search engines using various SEO tactics.
It is a very interesting read and Stephen does a great job telling us what he, and the readers, can learn from it. I definitely recommend it.

Wordpress Adsense Optimized Themes

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

There is a nice post over at Dosh Dosh highlighting some of advantages of using an Adsense optimized theme. The post also has a list of 16 of these optimized themes.

I have thought about using one of these themes for RevenueQuest. My only hesitation is that many of these themes are all over the internet now. Using a common theme makes your blog look unoriginal.

If you decide to go with one of these themes, try to edit it a little bit. You may want to change the graphic in the header or changing the color theme.

Suddenly, Adsense video ads everywhere

Saturday, January 6th, 2007

As some of you may have seen a while back, Google’s Adsense added a new way to earn revenue through their contextual advertising, video ads. So apparently these ads have been available to publishers on adsense since May of ‘06. But I cannot say that I have ever seen the ads used on a site.

Suddenly, I have seen the video ads show up on three different blogs in the last fifteen minutes or so. Does anyone know why these are showing up all of a sudden? Could it be that three different bloggers decided to allow video ads on their site within a few hours of each other, after the program has been around for over 6 months? Not likely.

So what’s the deal?
