2009 Goals

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

I’ve been thinking about what my goals for the new year should be. Setting attainable goals is important to reach new levels of success in everything that you do; whether it be sports, school, or affiliate marketing.

1. Income of $20,000+

The last few months I have been thinking a lot about what I am going to do after I graduate. Making a living in affiliate marketing would be great, but it just doesn’t seem like a very consistent career. If I can make $20k this year while going to school and running, it will show me that there is a potential to continue affiliate marketing post graduation — at least partime.

2. No long breaks

I think this blog has had some helpful posts. Unfortunately, it has never really “taken off” and I think the main reason for that is inconsistent posting. I’m not going to make a specific goal of posting exactly every 7 days… instead this subjective goal will hopefully keep me in line.

3. Network

I would like to get to know more people involved in affiliate marketing. Maybe I will even make a trip to one of the big gatherings like Affiliate Summit.

I have three big goals to work on. $20k is about $55/day and I’m already behind.

August through November

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

These months had very little marketing going on, and the results show it. It is always a lot more fun to put up a record-breaking month, but if UberAffiliate had the balls to tell us about his sub-$200 month (and he does this full-time), then I shouldn’t be ashamed to talk about my low months when I’m doing this empty-time (empty is the antonym of full, right?).

August

August saw a big, fat ZERO. Luckily, I also spent $0.

September

A losing month. Terrible. Spent $79.96 and brought in $76.05 for a grand total of $3.91. Basically I tried to revive a money-maker from the summer that Facebook killed.

October

I made a couple bucks… Spent $83.62 and brought in $94.50 for a total of $10.88.

November

November had very little of anything other than school and cross country going on. I had my Big Sky Conference, Mountain Regional, and National meet all in November (I should have quite a few airline miles accumulated now). All income that trickled in was from campaigns that I didn’t know were running. Spent $5.24 and brought in $10.85 for a total of $5.61.

December is already looking much better. It won’t quite meet up to my Summer months, but hopefully it will cover all that Christmas shopping I do. I’m sure I will at least beat UberAffiliate’s last month.

July Affiliate Income Report

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

It really has been a long time… it is now nearing the end of September and I am finally posting my July Affiliate Income Report. I guess a lot of things have happened since then… Summer is over, school has started, I took a 10 day trip to Mammoth Lakes for some high-altitude training, and cross country season has started. While all these things have taken lots of my time, surely they can’t get in the way of making money… but Facebook can!

At the end of July, I got the big fat Facebook slap. Things were going so well and I was paying Facebook lots of money. I guess they wanted to uphold some sort of “integrity” and as a result all of my ads that were making me money were deleted. As my favorite fictional character would say, “Tough titty says the kitty.”

Anyway, here is how July ended up. I brought in $4,972.93, mostly with one campaign with Hydra. On Facebook, I spent $2,852.74 for a total of $2,120.19 and a ROI of 74.3%. Lower numbers than June, but definitely satisfactory.

The way my schedule is, I won’t be making new goals for next month. I’ll let you guys know if things start to pick up though.

June Affiliate Income Report

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

After returning from my trip to Italy, I am slowly getting back into the swing of things. I am finally ready to go through my income report for the month of June.

Once again, last month saw new records: total revenue of $6047.35, total advertising cost of $3061.24, and a profit of $2986.11. My ROI was a solid 97.5%.

All of the goals I set for myself last month were met. I broke $1k/week and was well over 60% ROI. I am a little bummed that I just missed the $100/day mark. In the beginning of the month, I set several records (First $200 profit day and $500 in Revenue) and I thought for sure I would break $100/day. When I went to Italy I lowered my budget to ~$60 and I paused some campaigns completely while I was gone.

Next month I will be happy if I can break the $3000 mark. If I could keep this up, that would be an annual income of $36k. That is above the average income per household member in the United States of $26,036 (Household income in the United States, Wikipedia). Since I live at home during the summer and my parents pay for my college expenses (thanks Mom and Dad) I will be able to bank most of this. It looks like I am well on my way to reaching another one of my goals for 2008: $15,000 in the bank.

Once again, Hydra was by far my #1 network for the month. NeverBlueAds is still doing well for me, as well. If you are looking for some new networks to check out, I suggest both of those. Send me an e-mail or comment on this post and I’ll see if I can hook you up with my sweet affiliate managers.

$500 in Revenue

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Big day yesterday. I broke another one of those barriers. Yesterday I broke $500 in total revenue for the first time. To be exact, I earned $512.70. I also had a record day in spending, but my margins were still over 100%. I’ll take that kind of return on my investment any day.

This came from Hydra and ~$6 from Azoogle while I was doing a little testing.

Hydra stats 6/11/08

The next target is obviously $1000. Since the vast majority of this came from one offer, this goal should be achievable with a couple more campaigns running. Easier said then done.

What is your record for most total revenue in a day?

First $200 profit day

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

I had a great day yesterday. It was my second day running a new offer, and it is by far my best campaign ever. Hopefully it has the legs to go the distance and stick around for a while.

So yesterday saw a new record in revenue at $381.05, total spent at $158.89, and profit at $222.16. All of this was run through Hydra Network. I have a great affiliate manager over there that sends me e-mails everyday with the newest and best converting offers for search, e-mail, and banner. If you aren’t a member of Hydra, I highly recommend them. Leave a comment on this post or contact me and I’ll see if I can get you my great affiliate manager.
