Free Tech Gear from Take My Tech

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Who doesn’t like winning free stuff? Better yet, who doesn’t like a 1-in-100 chance of winning free stuff? Enter Take My Tech.

Take My Tech is a new blog by Jason Burns (owner of Philoking.com) that gives away tech gear. Since the blog’s launch just over a month ago, six items have been given away, including routers, a backpack and an ATI video card, among other things.

Most of the giveaways only require a comment on the post to be entered in the drawing. A few giveaways are run in a contest format like this one for a Microsoft Wireless Media Center keyboard that requires pictures of your home theater setup. Once there are 100 entries in the giveaway/contest, a winner is chosen.

Not bad odds.

Some of the giveaways that are closest to reaching their 100-entry threshold are,

Shoemoney has just announced the Shoemoney Media Group’s latest website. It’s called Bellow A Buck.

Below A Buck uses eBay’s API to show auctions that are ending in less than an hour with a price that is less than $1. The site categorizes everything nicely and has a search feature for your convenience.

Does the site sound familiar? It did to me too. On August 10th John Chow wrote a review about a site called LastMinuteAuction (www.lastminute-auction.com). Below A Buck is pretty much a copy of that site. If you try to go to the site, you’ll notice it is down now, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Shoemoney never read John Chow’s review and honestly came up with the idea on his own.

But that’s besides the point.

Over at Dave “Dillsmack” Dellanave’s blog, Dillsmack goes through their process of building the site. It is pretty unreal how fast he and Shoemoney got this website ready to go. He worked for 40 minutes on the first day and 30 minutes the second. Then it was sent off to a designing company for a couple weeks. When the design was finished, It took Dillsmack about 90 minutes to finish integrating the code into the design. That was 2 hours and 40 minutes of total work minus the designing.

How crazy is that? I always say to myself, “I just don’t have time for new things.” I guess the lesson learned here is to work fast

Earners Blog is Genius

Friday, February 16th, 2007

Since I began delving into the whole internet marketing and making money on-line scenes, I have consistently been checking a few different blogs. My favorite to read, and generally the first one I check everyday, is Earners Blog.

What makes Earners Blog so great? His posts are simply genius. After reading most of his posts, I think to myself, “Why didn’t I think of that?” He also has a way of motivating you. This is really nice when your latest, great idea just bombed and you begin thinking that you are no good at this whole making money on-line bit.

The first time I visited Earners Blog (I found his link on Blog Top Sites) I read his post on how he started making $200 a day. It was the first time I was really introduced with how to make money with affiliate programs.

That one post got me hooked and I have been returning ever since.

If you still are not convinced that you should start reading Stuart’s blog, he’s an Aussie! Who doesn’t like an Aussie?

Good review of Comment Hut

Monday, January 8th, 2007

I recently had a post about using a program called Comment Hut to create backlinks. It is a great way to promote your blog. Remember, one of the keys to making money on your blog is getting traffic, and this will help you get both referral and organic (search engine) traffic.

Stuart from Earners Blog was given a copy of the full version of Comment Hut to try out and he just wrote a nice review of the program highlighting some of its best features.
